Associate Director of Programs

Brief Summary

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Associate Director of Programs to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and evaluation of our programs, ensuring they are aligned with our organization’s mission and goals. The Associate Director of Programs will work closely with our senior management team, program staff, and external partners to achieve our objectives and drive impact.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and guidance to program teams, ensuring effective program design, implementation, and evaluation
• Develop and manage program budgets, ensuring efficient use of resources and alignment with organizational goals
• Foster strong relationships with external partners, including government agencies, NGOs, and community organizations
• Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement organizational strategies and plans
• Oversee program monitoring and evaluation, ensuring data-driven decision making and continuous improvement
• Represent the organization in external forums, conferences, and meetings, promoting our programs and mission

Requirements

• Masters degree in a relevant field, such as International Development, Business Administration, or Public Health
• At least 5 years of experience in program management, preferably in a senior leadership role
• Proven track record of successful program design, implementation, and evaluation
• Strong understanding of the Ethiopian context, including social, economic, and cultural factors
• Excellent leadership, management, and communication skills, with ability to motivate and inspire teams
• Fluency in English and Amharic, with ability to communicate effectively in both languages
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to think strategically and make informed decisions
• Experience working with international donors, NGOs, and government agencies, with knowledge of relevant policies and regulations
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office and program management software
