Role Profile

 

Department: Supply Chain

 

Reports to: Supply Chain Manager

 

Work Location: Based at our Plant located at Ginchi, West Shewa, with frequent travel to multi-barely woredas in the area

 

Required No: 1

 

Position Purpose

 

Assure a reliable, sufficient, and high-quality supply of malt barley from local out-grower farmers to meet KBSC’s annual production requirements, bridging farmer production systems with brewery quality standards, strengthening local sourcing and farmer livelihoods while reducing reliance on imported malt barley.

About You
What You’ll Do

 

Develop annual malt barley production plans aligned with KBSC demand.
Identify suitable barley-growing areas and agro-ecologies.
Prepare seasonal production schedules to ensure timely and consistent supply.
Out-Grower Farmer Development & Support
Variety Selection and Seed Management
Crop Management and Field Monitoring
Quality Control for Malting Standards
Post-Harvest Handling and Storage
Input Supply and Credit Scheme Management
Data Collection, Reporting, and Forecasting
Stakeholder Coordination
Malt Barley Collection
Knowledge, Skills and Competencies

 

Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Plant Science, Crop Production, or related field.
Minimum 3–5 years of experience in crop production, preferably barley or cereals.
Strong knowledge of Good Agricultural Practices (GAP).
Experience in farmer training, extension services, and quality control.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to work field-based with frequent travel.
Strong data collection, reporting, and forecasting skills.
