We are looking for a competent Asset Management Manager for our client Tulu Kapi Gold Mine.
The Tulu Kapi gold mine and processing facility is typical of an open-pit-CIL-gold plant and mining operation using standard technology and the latest international industry practices.
This position demands strong expertise in both Gold Processing and maintenance of all Site Assets.
This role is a permanent position on an indefinite period contract of employment.

Job Purpose
The purpose of the Asset Management Manager role is to maximize value, safety, and reliability of all physical assets across the mine and gold processing plant by governing the full asset lifecycle from design and commissioning through operation, maintenance, and optimization while ensuring operational readiness and sustainable production performance.
Location
Mine License Area – West Wollega at end of project phase. Frequent travel between Addis Ababa and West Wollega during project phase.
Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Gold Plant and Asset Leadership
Provide asset stewardship for the gold processing plant, ensuring grinding, leaching, adsorption, elution, electrowinning, tailings, and reagent systems achieve design throughput, recovery, availability, and cost targets.
Partner closely with Operations to support stable, safe, and optimized gold production, addressing plant bottlenecks, chronic equipment issues, and reliability risks.
Lead asset-side input to plant operating strategies, shutdown planning, and production ramp-up.
Asset Strategy and Governance
Own the Asset Management Strategy and Asset Management Plan aligned with the mine plan and gold production objectives.
Define lifecycle standards for acquisition, commissioning, operation, maintenance, modification, and disposal.
Chair the Asset Risk & Reliability forum, ensuring systematic management of critical risks and bad actors.
Ensure compliance with all statutory asset requirements.
Commissioning, Operational Readiness and Handover
Govern mechanical completion, commissioning, and handover of the gold plant and infrastructure.
Ensure complete and accurate as-builts, BoMs, PM strategies, spares, and Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) master data prior to startup.
Lead Reliability‑Centred Maintenance (RCM) and Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (FMEA) for all gold plant critical systems.
Maintenance and Reliability Management
Oversee maintenance execution for the gold plant, infrastructure, and facilities.
Establish best-practice work management, planning, scheduling, QA/QC, and shutdown governance.
Lead reliability engineering (RCFA, condition monitoring, RAM analysis, asset health optimisation).
Site Facilities, Utilities and Tailings Systems
Ensure reliability, safety, and compliance of power, water, process water, tailings services, fuel, camp, roads, and communications.
Govern utilities and site services contracts and performance.
Supply Chain Technical Governance
Define critical spares, technical specifications, and maintenance material standards.
Collaborate with Supply Chain to ensure inventory practices support gold plant reliability and availability.
Capital Stewardship and Change Management
Sponsor asset-related capital projects (debottlenecking, reliability, safety, recovery improvements).
Govern Management of Change for all plant and infrastructure modifications.
Performance and Continuous Improvement
Own maintenance and reliability KPIs linked to gold plant availability, recovery, cost, and risk.
Drive continuous improvement and benchmark performance against industry best practice.
People and Safety Leadership
Build a competent, disciplined asset management and maintenance organization.
Promote strong safety leadership, operational discipline, and accountability.
About You
Experience Required
10 to 15 years in gold processing, mining, or heavy industrial assets, including plant operations support.
Strong experience in commissioning, maintenance, and reliability of mineral processing plants.
Advanced CMMS capability;
Proven leader of multidisciplinary technical teams.
Minimum Required Qualifications
Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering discipline.
Language Requirements
Excellent written and verbal communication in English with language proficiency at the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) category C2 Mastery standard and the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely to diverse audiences.
