Job Title: Disability Inclusion Advisor-L4R (Re-Advertised)

Brief Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Disability Inclusion Advisor to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical expertise and support to ensure that our programs are inclusive and accessible to people with disabilities. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical assistance and support to program teams to ensure that programs are inclusive and accessible to people with disabilities
  • Develop and implement disability inclusion strategies and action plans to promote equal access to services and opportunities
  • Conduct assessments and analyses to identify barriers and opportunities for disability inclusion in programs and services
  • Build partnerships and collaborate with disability organizations, government agencies, and other stakeholders to promote disability inclusion
  • Develop and deliver training and capacity-building programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of staff and partners on disability inclusion
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of disability inclusion initiatives and provide recommendations for improvement

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in a relevant field such as social work, disability studies, international development, or a related field
  • At least 5 years of experience working in the field of disability inclusion, preferably in a developing country context
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing disability inclusion strategies and programs
  • Excellent knowledge of disability rights and international frameworks, including the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think creatively and develop innovative solutions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build partnerships and collaborate with diverse stakeholders
  • Fluency in English and Amharic is required; knowledge of other local languages is an asset
  • Experience working with international organizations, NGOs, or government agencies is an asset
