Script Writer (Comedy)

Brief Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Script Writer (Comedy) to join our team at Beleqet Jobs. As a Script Writer (Comedy), you will be responsible for creating original and engaging comedy scripts for various platforms, including television, film, and digital media. Your primary goal will be to develop comedic storylines, characters, and dialogue that will captivate and entertain our audience.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and write original comedy scripts for TV shows, films, and digital media platforms
• Create compelling characters, storylines, and dialogue that resonate with our target audience
• Conduct research to stay up-to-date with current trends and developments in the comedy industry
• Collaborate with producers, directors, and other writers to refine and improve scripts
• Edit and revise scripts based on feedback from stakeholders and audience testing
• Meet deadlines and deliver high-quality scripts within the required timeframe

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Theater Arts, Mass Communication, Journalism, or a related field from a recognized Ethiopian university
• At least 3 years of experience in script writing, preferably in the comedy genre
• Proven track record of writing successful comedy scripts for TV, film, or digital media
• Strong understanding of comedic structure, character development, and dialogue writing
• Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills
• Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and collaborate with others
• Familiarity with Ethiopian culture, customs, and nuances to ensure locally relevant content
• Proficiency in Amharic and English languages (written and spoken)
