Freight Manager

Brief Summary

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Freight Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the movement of goods and products from one place to another, ensuring that shipments are delivered on time, and managing the logistics of our freight operations. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement effective freight management strategies to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods
• Coordinate with suppliers, warehouses, and transportation providers to arrange for the movement of goods
• Manage and track shipments, including monitoring delivery schedules, tracking inventory, and resolving any issues that may arise
• Negotiate freight rates and contracts with transportation providers to ensure the best possible prices and services
• Collaborate with other departments, such as sales and customer service, to ensure that freight operations are aligned with business goals and objectives
• Analyze data and metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement in freight operations

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field from a recognized Ethiopian university
• At least 3 years of experience in freight management or a related field, with a proven track record of success
• Knowledge of Ethiopian customs regulations, transportation laws, and logistics industry practices
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks and priorities
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and logistics management software
