Junior Local Procurement and Logistics Officer

Brief Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Junior Local Procurement and Logistics Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the procurement and logistics functions of our organization, ensuring compliance with local regulations and company policies. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or early career professional to gain hands-on experience in procurement and logistics management.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the procurement of goods and services from local suppliers, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures
• Coordinate with local vendors to ensure timely delivery of goods and services
• Conduct market research to identify new suppliers and negotiate prices
• Maintain accurate records of procurement transactions and update the procurement database
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth implementation of procurement and logistics plans
• Monitor and report on procurement and logistics performance metrics, including lead times, inventory levels, and supplier performance

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field from a recognized Ethiopian university
• At least 1 year of experience in procurement and logistics, preferably in a similar industry
• Knowledge of Ethiopian procurement laws and regulations, including the Public Procurement Proclamation
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to work with local suppliers and stakeholders
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and experience with procurement software
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Fluency in Amharic and English, with the ability to communicate effectively in both languages
