Treasury and Tax Head

Brief Summary

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Treasury and Tax Head to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the treasury and tax functions, developing and implementing strategies to optimize financial performance, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. This is a senior leadership role that requires strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and the ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement treasury and tax strategies to optimize financial performance and minimize risk
• Lead the treasury function, including cash management, funding, and investment activities
• Oversee tax planning and compliance, including income tax, value-added tax, and other taxes
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including finance, accounting, and legal teams, to ensure alignment and effective communication
• Develop and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including banks, tax authorities, and regulatory bodies
• Provide technical expertise and guidance on treasury and tax matters to senior management and the board of directors
• Stay up-to-date with changes in tax laws, regulations, and industry trends, and advise the organization on potential impacts and opportunities

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field from a recognized Ethiopian university
• Professional certification, such as CPA, ACCA, or CIMA, is highly desirable
• At least 8 years of experience in treasury and tax roles, with a minimum of 3 years in a senior leadership position
• Strong technical expertise in treasury and tax, including Ethiopian tax laws and regulations
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex financial data and develop creative solutions
• Fluency in English and Amharic is required, with knowledge of other local languages being an advantage
