Tender Officer I

Brief Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Tender Officer I to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the tendering process, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and maintaining effective relationships with stakeholders. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and organized individual to contribute to the success of our organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and coordinate tender documents, including invitations to tender, tender notices, and contract agreements
  • Manage the tendering process, from advertisement to contract award, ensuring transparency, fairness, and compliance with relevant laws and regulations
  • Develop and maintain a database of potential bidders and contractors, and ensure their eligibility to participate in tenders
  • Conduct tender evaluations, including technical and financial evaluations, and make recommendations to the tender committee
  • Coordinate with various departments to ensure that all tender-related activities are properly managed and documented
  • Provide support and guidance to stakeholders, including bidders, contractors, and colleagues, on tender-related matters

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field from a recognized Ethiopian university
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in tender management, procurement, or a related field, preferably in a similar organization
  • Professional certification in procurement or supply chain management, such as CIPS or CPSM, is an added advantage
  • Strong knowledge of Ethiopian procurement laws and regulations, including the Ethiopian Federal Government Procurement Directive
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and experience with tender management software
