Sr. Accountant (Import sector only)

Brief Summary

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Sr. Accountant to join our team in the import sector. As a Sr. Accountant, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing all financial activities related to imports, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. You will work closely with the management team to ensure compliance with financial regulations and laws, and provide financial guidance and support to drive business growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards
• Develop and implement financial models and forecasts to support business decisions and drive growth
• Manage and analyze financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, and provide recommendations to management
• Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, including tax laws and regulations, and maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes to laws and regulations
• Coordinate with external auditors to ensure smooth audit processes and resolve any audit findings or issues
• Provide financial guidance and support to the management team to drive business growth and profitability
• Develop and maintain financial policies and procedures to ensure consistency and compliance

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field from a recognized Ethiopian university
• Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting, preferably in the import sector
• Professional certification in accounting, such as CPA or ACCA, is an advantage
• Strong knowledge of Ethiopian tax laws and regulations, and international financial reporting standards
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Proficiency in accounting software, such as SAP or Oracle, and Microsoft Office applications
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
• Fluency in English and Amharic is required, and knowledge of other local languages is an advantage
