Shift Electrician

Brief Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Shift Electrician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of electrical systems and equipment during their assigned shift. This includes performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs to minimize downtime and optimize production.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and inspections on electrical systems and equipment to identify potential issues and prevent downtime.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical faults and malfunctions in a timely and efficient manner.
• Operate and control electrical systems, including switchgears, transformers, and generators.
• Monitor and record electrical system performance, including power consumption and equipment status.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless operations and resolve any electrical-related issues.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to minimize equipment failure and reduce maintenance costs.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulations, including personal protective equipment (PPE) and lockout/tagout procedures.

Requirements

• Diploma or Certificate in Electrical Engineering or a related field from a recognized Ethiopian institution, such as the Ethiopian Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) or a university.
• At least 2 years of experience as an electrician in an industrial or manufacturing setting, preferably in a shift-based environment.
• Knowledge of electrical systems, including circuit analysis, electrical codes, and safety standards.
• Familiarity with electrical testing and measurement tools, such as multimeters and oscilloscopes.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex electrical issues.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and other departments.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
• Physical ability to work in a manufacturing environment, including standing, walking, and climbing ladders or stairs.
