Senior Internal Auditor

Brief Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Internal Auditor to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the internal audit function, providing assurance on the effectiveness of our internal controls, and identifying areas for improvement. The Senior Internal Auditor will work closely with senior management and the audit committee to ensure that our organization is operating in an efficient and effective manner.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and execute internal audits, including risk assessments, audit testing, and reporting
• Develop and implement internal audit procedures and methodologies
• Lead and manage a team of internal auditors, providing guidance and oversight
• Communicate audit findings and recommendations to senior management and the audit committee
• Collaborate with external auditors and other stakeholders to ensure a comprehensive audit approach
• Stay up-to-date with changing regulatory requirements and industry standards, and advise management on compliance matters
• Develop and manage the internal audit budget, and ensure effective use of resources

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Auditing, or a related field from a recognized Ethiopian university
• Professional certification in internal auditing, such as CIA or CISA
• At least 5 years of experience in internal auditing, with a minimum of 2 years in a senior role
• Proven knowledge of internal control frameworks, risk management, and auditing standards
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with senior management and stakeholders
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate risks
• Fluency in English and Amharic, with excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Experience with audit software and technology, such as ACL or SAP
