Senior Accountant

Brief Summary

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Senior Accountant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and overseeing the financial activities of our organization, including financial reporting, budgeting, and financial analysis. The Senior Accountant will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and compliance of our financial statements and will work closely with the management team to provide financial guidance and support.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
• Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial models
• Conduct financial analysis and provide recommendations to management on financial planning and strategy
• Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and standards, including tax laws and accounting standards
• Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff and provide training and guidance as needed
• Coordinate with external auditors and ensure that audits are conducted efficiently and effectively
• Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure best practices and internal controls

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field from a recognized Ethiopian university
• Professional certification in accounting, such as CPA or ACCA, is an advantage
• At least 5 years of experience in accounting, preferably in a senior role
• Strong knowledge of Ethiopian tax laws and accounting standards
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data
• Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to supervise and mentor junior staff
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with management and other stakeholders
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
