Senior Accountant

Brief Summary

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Senior Accountant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the accounting function, providing financial guidance and support to management, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations and standards. The Senior Accountant will play a key role in financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting, and will be responsible for preparing and presenting financial reports to senior management and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the accounting team and provide guidance and support to junior accountants
• Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
• Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
• Conduct financial analysis and provide insights to management to inform business decisions
• Prepare and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial models
• Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reports
• Collaborate with external auditors to ensure smooth audits and compliance with accounting standards

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field from a recognized Ethiopian university
• Professional certification in accounting, such as ACCA, CIMA, or CPA
• Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in a senior role
• Strong knowledge of Ethiopian tax laws and regulations, as well as international financial reporting standards
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Proficiency in accounting software, such as Peachtree, QuickBooks, or SAP
• Strong leadership and team management skills, with ability to motivate and guide junior accountants
