Job Title: Senior Accountant

Brief Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Accountant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and overseeing the financial activities of the organization, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and providing financial guidance and support to management. The Senior Accountant will play a key role in preparing financial statements, budgets, and forecasts, as well as analyzing financial data to inform business decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
• Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations
• Manage and oversee the accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions
• Analyze financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement
• Provide financial guidance and support to management, including preparing budgets, forecasts, and financial reports
• Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures
• Collaborate with external auditors to ensure smooth audit processes
• Develop and maintain financial models to forecast revenue and expenses

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field from a recognized Ethiopian university
• Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting, preferably in a senior role
• Professional certification in accounting, such as CPA or ACCA, is an advantage
• Strong knowledge of Ethiopian tax laws and regulations
• Experience with financial software and systems, including Excel, QuickBooks, and other accounting packages
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
