Job Title: Senior Accountant

Brief Summary

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Senior Accountant to join our team. As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for preparing and reviewing financial statements, managing budgets, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. You will also provide guidance and support to junior accounting staff and contribute to the development of the company’s financial strategies.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
• Manage and analyze budgets, forecasts, and financial reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies
• Develop and implement financial models and tools to improve financial planning and decision-making
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations, including tax laws and accounting standards
• Provide guidance and support to junior accounting staff, including training and mentoring
• Collaborate with other departments to achieve company goals and objectives
• Conduct financial analysis and provide recommendations to management on financial matters

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field from a recognized Ethiopian university
• Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting, preferably in a senior role
• Professional certification in accounting, such as CPA or ACCA, is an advantage
• Strong knowledge of Ethiopian tax laws and accounting standards
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Proficiency in accounting software, such as SAP or Oracle, and Microsoft Office applications
• Strong leadership and team management skills, with ability to motivate and guide junior staff
• Fluency in English and Amharic, with ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders
