Job Title: Production Geologist

Brief Summary

We are seeking an experienced Production Geologist to join our team in Ethiopia. As a Production Geologist, you will play a key role in optimizing hydrocarbon recovery from existing fields, identifying new opportunities, and implementing geological solutions to production challenges. You will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to integrate geological, geophysical, and engineering data to inform field development decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive geological evaluations of existing fields to identify opportunities for increased production and reserves growth
• Integrate geological, geophysical, and engineering data to develop and maintain robust geological models
• Collaborate with reservoir engineers to optimize field development plans and production strategies
• Provide geological support for well planning, execution, and evaluation, including logging, coring, and testing operations
• Identify and prioritize new drilling opportunities, including infill drilling, sidetracks, and near-field exploration targets
• Develop and maintain databases to track production performance, reservoir properties, and geological parameters
• Stay up-to-date with industry best practices, new technologies, and emerging trends in production geology

Requirements

• MSc or PhD in Geology, Petroleum Geology, or a related field from a recognized Ethiopian or international university
• Minimum 5 years of experience in production geology, preferably in the oil and gas industry
• Strong understanding of geological principles, including sedimentology, structural geology, and petrophysics
• Experience with geological modeling software, such as Petrel, Geocap, or similar platforms
• Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation, with experience using software such as Excel, SQL, or programming languages like Python or R
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Fluency in English, with proficiency in Amharic or other local languages an advantage
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a strong focus on delivery and results
