Job Title: MEP Coordinator (Mechanical)

Brief Summary

We are seeking an experienced and skilled MEP Coordinator (Mechanical) to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and managing mechanical aspects of MEP projects, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery of high-quality projects. The MEP Coordinator (Mechanical) will work closely with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers, contractors, and clients to ensure that projects are completed to the required standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage mechanical aspects of MEP projects, including planning, execution, and monitoring
• Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans
• Conduct site visits to monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions
• Collaborate with mechanical engineers, contractors, and clients to ensure that projects are completed to the required standards
• Review and approve mechanical designs, drawings, and specifications to ensure compliance with local regulations and industry standards
• Identify and mitigate potential risks, ensuring that projects are completed safely and with minimal disruption
• Coordinate with other departments, such as electrical and plumbing, to ensure integrated project delivery
• Prepare and submit project reports, including progress updates, budget reports, and quality control reports

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field from a recognized Ethiopian university
• Minimum 3 years of experience in MEP project coordination or management, preferably in the construction or engineering industry
• Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, including HVAC, plumbing, and fire suppression systems
• Excellent project management skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
• Proficiency in MS Office, including Excel, Word, and Project, as well as experience with project management software
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a strong focus on quality, safety, and customer satisfaction
• Certification in project management, such as PMP or PRINCE2, is an added advantage
• Membership in a professional body, such as the Ethiopian Association of Civil Engineers, is desirable
