Job Title: Manager, Software Development & MIS- Internal/External

Brief Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manager, Software Development & MIS- Internal/External to lead our software development and Management Information Systems (MIS) teams. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and maintenance of software applications and MIS systems that meet the needs of our internal and external stakeholders. This is a senior leadership role that requires a strong technical background, excellent management skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the software development and MIS teams to design, develop, test, and implement software applications and systems that meet business requirements
• Develop and manage project plans, budgets, and resource allocation to ensure successful project delivery
• Collaborate with stakeholders to identify business needs and develop solutions that meet those needs
• Ensure that all software development and MIS projects are aligned with the company’s overall strategy and goals
• Manage and mentor software developers, MIS professionals, and other technical staff to ensure they have the skills and expertise needed to perform their jobs effectively
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, including system architecture, design documents, and user manuals
• Ensure that all software development and MIS projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards
• Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in software development and MIS, and make recommendations for their adoption

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field from a recognized Ethiopian university
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in software development and MIS, with at least 2 years in a leadership role
• Proven experience in managing software development and MIS projects, including project planning, budgeting, and resource allocation
• Strong technical skills in programming languages, software development methodologies, and MIS systems
• Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and direct technical teams
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders at all levels
• Experience with agile development methodologies and version control systems
• Knowledge of Ethiopian laws and regulations related to information technology and data privacy
• Professional certification in software development, MIS, or a related field is an advantage
