Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain high-quality, scalable, and efficient backend systems using Java, Python, or other programming languages
  • Collaborate with the development team to identify and prioritize project requirements and develop solutions
  • Develop and maintain APIs, microservices, and serverless architectures to support web applications
  • Ensure the security, integrity, and performance of backend systems and data storage solutions
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to the improvement of the overall quality of the codebase
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, and provide support for production systems
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies, and apply this knowledge to improve backend systems and processes

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field from a recognized Ethiopian university
  • At least 3 years of experience in backend development using Java, Python, or other programming languages
  • Strong understanding of software development principles, design patterns, and architectures
  • Experience with database management systems such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB
  • Knowledge of API design principles, RESTful APIs, and API security
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in a team environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with cross-functional teams
