Job Title: Manager, Core Banking and Auxiliary Systems

Brief Summary

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Manager, Core Banking and Auxiliary Systems to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and maintenance of our core banking and auxiliary systems, ensuring they are aligned with the company’s strategic objectives and meet the evolving needs of our customers. This is a senior leadership role that requires strong technical, business, and managerial skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategic plans for core banking and auxiliary systems, ensuring alignment with the company’s overall business strategy
  • Oversee the design, development, testing, and deployment of new systems and enhancements to existing ones
  • Manage and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders, including business units, IT, and operations teams
  • Collaborate with external vendors and partners to identify and implement best-in-class solutions
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and internal policies and procedures
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to the team, including coaching, mentoring, and performance management
  • Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and resource allocation plans for the department
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with core banking and auxiliary systems, ensuring business continuity and minimizing downtime

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field from a recognized Ethiopian university
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in banking or financial services, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
  • Proven experience in managing core banking and auxiliary systems, including design, development, implementation, and maintenance
  • Strong knowledge of banking operations, including payment systems, accounting, and risk management
  • Excellent technical skills, including experience with programming languages, databases, and software development methodologies
  • Strong business acumen, with the ability to analyze complex business problems and develop effective solutions
  • Excellent leadership and management skills, with experience in team management, coaching, and mentoring
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Certifications in ITIL, COBIT, or other relevant frameworks are an added advantage
  • Fluency in English and Amharic is required, with knowledge of other local languages being an asset
