Job Description
The Junior IT Support Officer at Digaf & Micro-Credit Provider SC is responsible for providing technical assistance and support for computer systems, networks, and hardware maintenance. This full-time role, suitable for candidates with 1-3 years of experience, will be based in our Addis Ababa office. The position involves troubleshooting issues, maintaining IT infrastructure, and ensuring efficient operation of technology resources to support organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide first-level support for hardware and software issues reported by users.
Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of computer systems and networks.
Troubleshoot and resolve network connectivity problems.
Perform regular system updates and ensure security measures are in place.
Document technical issues and resolutions in the helpdesk system.
Collaborate with senior IT staff on complex problems and projects.
Assist in the setup and maintenance of IT equipment for new employees.
Conduct regular hardware maintenance and repairs as needed.
Monitor system performance and recommend improvements.
Participate in training sessions for staff on new technologies and software.
About You
Required Skills:
Demonstrate proficiency in operating systems such as Windows and Linux.
Understand and apply networking concepts including TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP.
Perform routine hardware diagnostics and repairs on desktops and laptops.
Utilize remote support tools to assist users effectively.
Manage software installations and updates with attention to detail.
Implement basic cybersecurity practices to protect organizational data.
Maintain accurate inventory of IT assets and equipment.
Analyze and troubleshoot common software issues proactively.
Communicate technical information clearly to non-technical users.
Work collaboratively in a team environment to solve IT challenges.
