Job Title: Intern – Gender and Economic Strengthening (Readvertisement)

Brief Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Intern to support our Gender and Economic Strengthening team. The successful candidate will assist in the implementation of projects aimed at promoting gender equality and economic empowerment. This internship provides an excellent opportunity for students or recent graduates to gain hands-on experience in the development sector and contribute to making a positive impact in the lives of women and girls in Ethiopia.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the planning, implementation, and monitoring of projects focused on gender and economic strengthening
• Conduct research and gather data to inform project design and implementation
• Support the development of project reports, proposals, and other documentation
• Collaborate with team members to identify and address gender and economic strengthening needs
• Participate in meetings, workshops, and training sessions to stay updated on project progress and best practices
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor to support the team

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in or recently graduated with a degree in a relevant field such as Gender Studies, Economics, Development Studies, or Social Sciences from a recognized Ethiopian university
• Strong understanding of gender and economic strengthening concepts and principles
• Excellent research and analytical skills, with the ability to collect and analyze data
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
• Fluency in English and Amharic is required; knowledge of other local languages is an asset
• Commitment to gender equality and economic empowerment, with a passion for making a positive difference in the lives of women and girls
