Job Title: General Accountant

Brief Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced General Accountant to join our team. As a General Accountant, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining the financial records of our company, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with relevant laws and regulations. You will work closely with the management team to provide financial insights and support business decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
• Manage and maintain general ledger accounts, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll
• Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations
• Conduct financial analysis and provide recommendations to management on financial planning and budgeting
• Collaborate with external auditors to ensure smooth audit processes and compliance with auditing standards
• Provide training and support to accounting staff to ensure accurate and efficient financial record-keeping

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field from a recognized Ethiopian university
• Minimum 3 years of experience in accounting, preferably in a similar industry or sector
• Professional certification in accounting, such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants), is an advantage
• Excellent knowledge of Ethiopian tax laws and regulations, as well as international financial reporting standards (IFRS)
• Proficiency in accounting software, such as SAP, Oracle, or QuickBooks
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively in a team environment
