Fixed Asset & Property Senior Accountant

Brief Summary

We are seeking an experienced Fixed Asset & Property Senior Accountant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining the company’s fixed assets and properties, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements. This is a senior role that requires strong technical accounting skills, excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, and the ability to lead and mentor junior team members.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain accounting policies and procedures for fixed assets and properties
• Manage the fixed asset register, including asset additions, disposals, and depreciation
• Conduct regular physical asset verifications and reconcile any discrepancies
• Prepare and review financial reports and statements related to fixed assets and properties
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate and timely recording of asset transactions
• Provide technical accounting guidance and support to junior team members
• Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and effectiveness

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field from a recognized Ethiopian university
• Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on fixed assets and properties
• Professional certification in accounting, such as ACA, ACCA, or CMA, is an advantage
• Strong knowledge of Ethiopian accounting standards and regulatory requirements
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Ability to lead and mentor junior team members
• Proficiency in accounting software, such as SAP or Oracle, and Microsoft Office applications
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks
