Job Title: Financial Inclusion Officer

Brief Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Financial Inclusion Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to promote financial inclusion, particularly among underserved populations in Ethiopia. This role requires a strong understanding of the financial sector, excellent project management skills, and the ability to build partnerships with various stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement financial inclusion strategies and programs to increase access to financial services for low-income households and small-scale entrepreneurs.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify opportunities and challenges in the financial inclusion sector.
  • Build and maintain partnerships with financial institutions, government agencies, and other stakeholders to promote financial inclusion.
  • Design and deliver training programs to build the capacity of financial institutions and other stakeholders on financial inclusion.
  • Monitor and evaluate the impact of financial inclusion programs and make recommendations for improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field from a reputable Ethiopian university.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the financial sector, preferably in a role related to financial inclusion.
  • Strong understanding of the Ethiopian financial sector and the challenges faced by underserved populations.
  • Excellent project management and coordination skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and make informed decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build partnerships with various stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Amharic and English is required, with knowledge of other local languages being an advantage.
  • Willingness to travel frequently to rural areas of Ethiopia.
