Job Title: Environmental Health and Safety Intern
Brief Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Environmental Health and Safety Intern to join our team. As an Environmental Health and Safety Intern, you will have the opportunity to work closely with our experienced EHS professionals to ensure a safe and healthy work environment for all employees. This internship will provide you with hands-on experience in environmental health and safety management, allowing you to apply theoretical knowledge in a real-world setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular workplace inspections to identify potential environmental, health, and safety hazards
- Assist in the development and implementation of EHS policies, procedures, and training programs
- Participate in incident investigations and help implement corrective actions
- Collaborate with employees to promote a culture of safety and environmental responsibility
- Assist in maintaining EHS records and reports, including incident reports, inspection records, and training documentation
- Research and stay up-to-date on new EHS regulations and industry best practices
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Environmental Health, Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field
- Strong understanding of environmental, health, and safety principles and regulations
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Google Suite
- Fluency in English is required; Amharic language skills are an asset
- Availability to work for a minimum of 3 months, with the possibility of extension
- Ability to commit to a minimum of 20 hours per week, with flexibility to work more hours as needed
