Job Title: Education Specialist (P-4)

Brief Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Education Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical expertise and support to the development and implementation of education programs, policies, and initiatives. This is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on the education sector in Ethiopia and contribute to the improvement of the country’s education system.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and evaluate education programs, policies, and initiatives to improve the quality and accessibility of education in Ethiopia
• Provide technical assistance and support to government agencies, schools, and other stakeholders to build their capacity and improve education outcomes
• Conduct research and analysis to identify areas for improvement in the education sector and develop evidence-based solutions
• Collaborate with international organizations, NGOs, and other partners to leverage resources and expertise and support the development of the education sector
• Develop and manage budgets, reports, and other documentation to ensure effective program management and accountability

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Education, Educational Administration, Curriculum Development, or a related field from a recognized Ethiopian or international university
• At least 8 years of experience in education development, planning, and management, with a focus on improving education quality and accessibility
• Proven track record of developing and implementing successful education programs and initiatives, with experience working with government agencies, schools, and other stakeholders
• Strong technical expertise in education policy, planning, and management, with knowledge of international best practices and standards
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and project management skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders and teams
• Fluency in English and Amharic is required, with knowledge of other local languages an advantage
• Experience working with international organizations, NGOs, or government agencies is an asset, with knowledge of Ethiopian education policies and regulations
