Job Description

Summarizes the cash needs of the company units from their monthly cash flow statement and transfer the request to units as per the recommendation & approval of department director.
Prepares payment vouchers and check book for authorized payments after verifying the correctness of the pertinent source documents.
Reviews the accounts so that all transactions are journalized and posted.
Verifies and receives the monthly accounting documents from branches and analyze and pass appropriate transaction.
Undertakes the accounting transaction data entry into the computer system and produces appropriate ledgers and trail balance under the cost center of branches.
Prepares bank reconciliation statements on monthly bases.
Processes cash disbursement and receipts.
Reviews the accounts so that all transactions are journalized and posted.
Compile the data required to adjusting entries in respect of accrual and prepayments and journalize the adjusting entries and post to ledger.
Determines that each subsidiary ledger is in agreement with the related controlling account in the general ledger.
Submits the books of accounts and financial records of the Branch to review and examine by the internal or external auditors as per the company policy.
Maintains fixed assets records in appropriate registers showing sufficient details of assets.
Controls proper use of funds within the budget and appropriate records based on the established internal control system.
Ensures regular taking up of data back up and filling of it in a safe and secured manner and with respective designated managers.
Prepares monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
Maintains appropriate records of disbursement, incomes, repayments, arrears, bad debts and alert the management on major issues related.
About You
Academic requirement: BSc/BA /Diploma/ level 4 in Accounting and Finance.

Work experience: 2/4years’ experience in finance related activities. Experience in general accounts, finance, investment, etc. in large entities with trading, agricultural, and transport sector involvement is advantageous. Extensive knowledge and experience in implementing finance and accounts manuals, systems, policies and standards is a benefit.
Desirable training: Finance and investment management tools like ERP, FMIS, etc.
