Job Title: Accountant

Brief Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accountant to join our team. As an Accountant, you will be responsible for preparing and examining financial records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with laws and regulations. You will play a key role in our organization’s financial management, providing financial insights and supporting business decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
• Manage and maintain financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger
• Ensure compliance with Ethiopian tax laws and regulations, including VAT and income tax
• Conduct financial analysis and provide recommendations to management on financial planning and budgeting
• Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure effective financial management
• Collaborate with internal and external auditors to ensure compliance with auditing standards

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field from a recognized Ethiopian university
• Minimum 2 years of experience in accounting, preferably in a similar industry
• Professional certification in accounting, such as CPA (Ethiopia) or ACCA, is an advantage
• Strong knowledge of Ethiopian tax laws and regulations, including VAT and income tax
• Proficiency in accounting software, such as Peachtree or QuickBooks
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively in a team
