Job Title: Accountant

Brief Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accountant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining the financial records of our organization, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and providing financial insights to support business decisions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
• Manage and maintain general ledger accounts, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll
• Ensure compliance with Ethiopian tax laws and regulations, including VAT and income tax
• Conduct financial analysis and provide insights to support business decisions
• Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure effective financial management
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including management and other departments, to achieve organizational goals

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field from a recognized Ethiopian university
• Minimum 3 years of experience in accounting, preferably in a similar industry
• Professional certification, such as CPA or ACCA, is an added advantage
• Strong knowledge of Ethiopian tax laws and regulations, including VAT and income tax
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and provide insights
• Proficiency in accounting software, including Peachtree or QuickBooks
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
