Job Title: Accountant

Brief Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accountant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining the financial records of our organization, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and providing financial insights to inform business decisions. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and detail-oriented individual to contribute to the financial management of our organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
• Manage and maintain general ledger accounts, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll
• Ensure compliance with Ethiopian tax laws and regulations, including preparation and submission of tax returns
• Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure effective financial management
• Provide financial analysis and insights to inform business decisions and drive growth
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including management and other departments, to achieve organizational goals

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field from a recognized Ethiopian university
• Professional certification, such as CPA (Ethiopia) or ACCA, is an advantage
• At least 3 years of experience in accounting, preferably in a similar industry or organization
• Strong knowledge of Ethiopian tax laws and regulations, including income tax, VAT, and withholding tax
• Proficiency in financial management software, including Excel, and accounting systems, such as SAP or QuickBooks
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
