Job Title: Accountant

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
• Manage and maintain general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial data
• Develop and implement financial models and forecasts to support business planning and decision-making
• Conduct financial analysis and provide recommendations to management on financial performance and areas for improvement
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and company policies
• Coordinate with external auditors to ensure smooth audit processes and resolve any audit findings
• Develop and maintain financial reports, including budget variance reports and financial dashboards

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field from a recognized Ethiopian university
• Minimum 3 years of experience in accounting, preferably in a similar industry
• Professional certification in accounting, such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants), is an advantage
• Strong knowledge of Ethiopian tax laws and regulations
• Proficiency in accounting software, such as Peachtree or QuickBooks
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with colleagues and management
• Fluency in English and Amharic, with ability to communicate effectively in both languages
