Access and Safety Office

Brief Summary

The Access and Safety Office is responsible for ensuring the overall safety and accessibility of our organization’s facilities and operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining safety protocols, procedures, and policies to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. This is a critical role that requires a high level of expertise, strong communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct risk assessments and develop strategies to mitigate potential hazards and risks
• Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies, procedures, and protocols
• Collaborate with management and employees to promote a culture of safety and accessibility
• Provide training and guidance on safety procedures and protocols
• Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards
• Investigate incidents and accidents, and develop recommendations to prevent future occurrences
• Develop and manage budgets related to safety and accessibility initiatives
• Stay up-to-date with changing regulations, laws, and industry best practices related to safety and accessibility

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field from a recognized Ethiopian university
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a safety-related role, preferably in a similar industry or organization
• Professional certification in Occupational Health and Safety, such as NEBOSH or equivalent, is an asset
• Strong knowledge of Ethiopian labor laws and regulations related to safety and accessibility
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders, including employees, management, and regulatory bodies
• Strong analytical and reporting skills, with the ability to interpret data and develop recommendations
• Fluency in Amharic and English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills
