Job Title: Shift Leader and Packing Supervisor/Food Processing Plant

Brief Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Shift Leader and Packing Supervisor to join our food processing plant team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the plant during their assigned shift, ensuring that all products are manufactured and packed to the highest standards of quality and safety. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food processing and packaging, with excellent leadership and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the activities of production and packing staff during the assigned shift
• Ensure that all products are manufactured and packed in accordance with company standards and regulatory requirements
• Conduct regular quality checks to ensure that products meet the required standards
• Implement and maintain effective safety and hygiene practices throughout the plant
• Manage and maintain accurate records of production, packaging, and quality control
• Provide training and coaching to staff members as needed
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless operations and resolve any issues that may arise
• Make decisions regarding production and packing operations, including scheduling and staffing

Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related field from a recognized Ethiopian university
• At least 2 years of experience in a food processing or manufacturing environment, with a focus on packaging and quality control
• Proven leadership and supervisory experience, with the ability to motivate and direct staff members
• Strong knowledge of food safety and quality control principles, including HACCP and ISO 22000
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with staff members, management, and external stakeholders
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make decisions quickly and effectively
• Proficiency in MS Office and other software applications, with the ability to learn new systems and technologies
• Fluency in English and Amharic, with the ability to communicate effectively in both languages
