Job Title: Senior Accountant

Brief Summary

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Senior Accountant to join our team. As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the financial operations of our organization, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in all financial matters. You will play a key role in financial planning, budgeting, and reporting, and will work closely with the management team to provide financial guidance and support.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
• Develop and implement financial plans, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations
• Manage and supervise a team of accountants, providing guidance and support to ensure accurate and timely completion of financial tasks
• Analyze financial data and provide insights and recommendations to management to inform business decisions
• Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial models to support business planning and decision-making
• Ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations, and manage tax planning and reporting
• Develop and maintain relationships with external auditors, banks, and other financial institutions

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field (such as Business Administration or Finance) from a recognized Ethiopian university
• Professional certification in accounting, such as ACCA, CIMA, or CPA
• Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting, preferably in a senior role
• Strong knowledge of Ethiopian tax laws and regulations, as well as international financial reporting standards
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong leadership and management skills
• Proficiency in accounting software, such as SAP or Oracle, and Microsoft Office applications
• Fluency in English and Amharic, with excellent written and verbal communication skills
