Job Title: Midwife Supervisor – Alamata
Brief Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Midwife Supervisor to join our team in Alamata, Ethiopia. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the midwifery services, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care, and supervising a team of midwives. Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of midwives, ensuring that they provide high-quality patient care and adhere to best practices and standards.
- Conduct regular assessments and evaluations of midwifery services, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as needed.
- Develop and implement training and development programs for midwives, to enhance their skills and knowledge.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as doctors and nurses, to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated approach to patient care.
- Participate in the development and implementation of policies and procedures, related to midwifery services.
- Provide guidance and support to midwives, on complex or high-risk cases, and ensure that they are equipped to handle emergency situations.
Requirements
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Midwifery from a recognized Ethiopian university.
- At least 3 years of experience in midwifery, with a minimum of 1 year in a supervisory role.
- Registration with the Ethiopian Ministry of Health, as a midwife.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and supervise a team of midwives.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with healthcare professionals, patients, and the community.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a high level of flexibility and adaptability.
- Fluency in Amharic and English, with the ability to communicate effectively in both languages.
- Willingness to work in a rural area, with limited resources and infrastructure.
