Job Title: WASH Program Manager
Brief Summary
We are seeking an experienced and skilled WASH Program Manager to lead our Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) programs in Ethiopia. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and implementing WASH projects, ensuring the overall quality and effectiveness of the programs, and contributing to the development of new proposals and initiatives. The WASH Program Manager will work closely with local communities, government agencies, and other stakeholders to improve access to safe water, sanitation, and hygiene services.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement WASH project plans, budgets, and monitoring and evaluation frameworks
- Manage and supervise WASH program staff, including providing technical guidance, training, and support
- Coordinate with local communities, government agencies, and other stakeholders to ensure the effective implementation of WASH projects
- Conduct needs assessments, baseline surveys, and other research activities to inform WASH program design and implementation
- Develop and maintain relationships with donors, partners, and other stakeholders to secure funding and resources for WASH programs
- Ensure that WASH programs are aligned with national and international standards, policies, and guidelines
- Prepare and submit regular project reports, including progress updates, financial reports, and evaluation reports
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Water Resources Management, Civil Engineering, Environmental Health, or a related field
- At least 5 years of experience in managing WASH programs, preferably in Ethiopia or a similar context
- Proven experience in project management, including planning, budgeting, and monitoring and evaluation
- Strong technical knowledge of WASH principles, technologies, and practices
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
- Ability to work in a team and build strong relationships with stakeholders, including local communities, government agencies, and donors
- Fluency in English and Amharic is required; knowledge of other local languages is an asset
- Experience with donor-funded projects, including USAID, EU, and UN agencies, is an advantage
- Certification in project management, such as PMP or PRINCE2, is desirable
