Senior Succession & Leadership Development Officer
Brief Summary
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Senior Succession & Leadership Development Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing succession planning and leadership development strategies to ensure the long-term success and growth of our organization. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive succession planning and leadership development strategies aligned with the organization’s goals and objectives.
- Identify, assess, and develop future leaders through various development programs, including training, mentoring, and coaching.
- Collaborate with senior management to create and implement individual development plans for high-potential employees.
- Design and deliver leadership development programs, including workshops, conferences, and other learning events.
- Establish and maintain a robust talent management system to track and monitor the development of future leaders.
- Provide guidance and support to employees to help them achieve their career goals and aspirations.
- Develop and manage the budget for succession planning and leadership development initiatives.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of succession planning and leadership development programs, making recommendations for improvement.
Requirements
- Masters’ degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field from a recognized Ethiopian or international university.
- At least 5 years of experience in succession planning, leadership development, talent management, or a related field, preferably in a large and complex organization.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing successful succession planning and leadership development strategies.
- Excellent knowledge of adult learning principles, instructional design, and facilitation techniques.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Experience with talent management systems and software applications, such as HRIS, LMS, or performance management tools.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Fluency in English and Amharic, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Certification in a related field, such as SHRM-CP, HRCI-PHR, or CPTD, is an added advantage.
