Digital Economy and ICT Advisor

Brief Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Digital Economy and ICT Advisor to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in providing technical expertise and guidance on digital economy and ICT-related matters to support the growth and development of the sector in Ethiopia. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategies to promote the growth of the digital economy in Ethiopia, including e-commerce, digital payments, and ICT-enabled services
• Provide technical assistance and guidance to government agencies, private sector companies, and other stakeholders on ICT-related matters, including policy and regulatory frameworks
• Conduct research and analysis on the latest trends and developments in the digital economy and ICT sector, and provide recommendations for their adoption and implementation in Ethiopia
• Foster partnerships and collaborations with local and international organizations to support the development of the digital economy and ICT sector in Ethiopia
• Develop and manage projects aimed at promoting digital literacy, digital skills development, and entrepreneurship in the ICT sector

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Economics, or a related field from a reputable university
• At least 5 years of experience in the ICT sector, with a focus on digital economy development, ICT policy and regulation, or a related area
• Proven track record of success in developing and implementing digital economy and ICT-related projects and programs
• Strong understanding of the Ethiopian ICT sector, including the policy and regulatory framework, and the current challenges and opportunities facing the sector
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with government agencies, private sector companies, and other stakeholders
• Fluency in English and Amharic is required, with knowledge of other local languages being an added advantage
• Experience working with international organizations, donors, or NGOs is an added advantage
