Job Title: Accountant

Brief Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accountant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining the financial records of our company, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and providing financial insights to support business decisions. Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
• Manage and maintain general ledger accounts, journal entries, and account reconciliations
• Ensure compliance with Ethiopian tax laws and regulations, including preparation and submission of tax returns
• Develop and implement financial models and forecasts to support business planning and decision-making
• Conduct financial analysis and provide recommendations to management on financial performance and areas for improvement
• Develop and maintain financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field from a recognized Ethiopian university
• Minimum 3 years of experience in accounting, preferably in a similar industry or company
• Professional certification in accounting, such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants)
• Strong knowledge of Ethiopian tax laws and regulations, including income tax, VAT, and withholding tax
• Proficiency in financial software and systems, including Excel, QuickBooks, and other accounting packages
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Fluency in English and Amharic, with excellent written and verbal communication skills
