An exciting vacant position has arisen at East Africa Bottling Share Company – Ethiopia for the role of Country Lead :TAX . The position is structured to report to the Finance Director.

Key purpose statement.

To lead and manage all tax matters in Ethiopia, ensuring full compliance with local tax regulations while providing strategic tax leadership to support business growth, minimize risks, and maintain strong relationships with tax authorities.
About You
Education & Certification :

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master’s degree is an advantage)
CA(SA), ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent accounting qualification.
HDip in Taxation or recognized tax certification advantageous.
Experience:

8+ years’ experience in tax or financial accounting.
2+ years of leadership experience managing teams and financial/tax processes.
Experience in FMCG or multinational environment preferred.
Strong working knowledge of local tax laws and IFRS.
Skills:

Tax Compliance & Reporting – Strong understanding of corporate tax, VAT, and withholding tax processes.
Financial Accounting Integration – Ability to align tax entries and reconciliations with IFRS reporting.
Analytical Reasoning – Skilled at interpreting tax data and identifying compliance risks.
Governance & Control – Maintains discipline in documentation and adherence to tax policies.
Communication & Advisory – Explains complex tax matters clearly to non-tax stakeholders.
Stakeholder Management – Builds effective relationships with tax authorities and auditors.
