IGA Officer Job Description

Brief Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced IGA Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing income-generating activities that support the organization’s mission and goals. The IGA Officer will work closely with various stakeholders to identify opportunities, develop business plans, and manage projects that contribute to the financial sustainability of the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct market research and analyze trends to identify opportunities for income-generating activities
• Develop and implement business plans for IGA projects, including budgeting, marketing, and operational planning
• Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including partners, donors, and community leaders
• Manage and monitor IGA projects, including tracking progress, identifying challenges, and implementing solutions
• Provide training and technical assistance to staff and community members on IGA-related topics
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure integration and alignment of IGA activities with the organization’s overall strategy

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, or a related field from a recognized Ethiopian university
• At least 3 years of experience in income-generating activities, business development, or a related field
• Proven track record of developing and implementing successful IGA projects
• Excellent business planning, marketing, and project management skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think creatively and outside the box
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders
• Fluency in English and Amharic, with knowledge of other local languages an advantage
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other software applications, with experience in database management and analysis
• Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate with colleagues to achieve common goals
