Senior Accountant

Brief Summary

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Senior Accountant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and overseeing the financial activities of our organization, including financial reporting, budgeting, and financial analysis. The Senior Accountant will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and compliance of our financial statements and will work closely with the management team to provide financial guidance and support.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
• Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations
• Manage and supervise a team of accountants and junior accountants, providing guidance and support as needed
• Conduct financial analysis and provide recommendations to management on financial planning and budgeting
• Ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations, including preparation and submission of tax returns
• Develop and maintain financial models and forecasts to support business decision-making
• Collaborate with internal and external auditors to ensure the accuracy and compliance of financial statements

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field from a recognized Ethiopian university
• Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in a senior accounting role
• Professional certification in accounting, such as CPA or ACCA, is an advantage
• Strong knowledge of Ethiopian tax laws and regulations, as well as international financial reporting standards
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data
• Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and supervise a team of accountants
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels
• Proficiency in accounting software, such as SAP or Oracle, and Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
