About the Organization<\/p>\n
The Leprosy Mission International Ethiopia (TLMI-E) is an international non-governmental organization registered with civil society organization\u2019s registry number 3097. Since September 19, 2019. TLMIE has been implementing different development and research projects across the country in partnership with national stakeholders like associations with persons affected by leprosy, ministry of health, ministry of women and social affairs, Ethiopian center for disability and development (ECDD) and other international development partners to support and strengthening the national leprosy programs and ensure evidence-based programing.<\/p>\n
Overview of the Project<\/p>\n
Skin related neglected tropical diseases (NTDs), including leprosy, disproportionately affect marginalized populations particularly in sub-Sahara Africa, especially in Ethiopia. Leprosy, a skin NTD, causes significant morbidity, disability and economic burden on affected individual and other household members. Affected individuals often lack access to affordable, acceptable and quality health care services that are person-centered.<\/p>\n
Therefore, to address these challenges, TLMI-E is undertaking a research project entitled \u201cThe social Determinants of health in people affected by leprosy in Ethiopia- a mixed method study\u201d aiming to investigate the social determinants of health the contributes to poor health outcomes for people diagnosed with leprosy and leprosy reaction in Ethiopia.<\/p>\n
Accordingly, The Leprosy mission international-Ethiopia seeking to employ qualified and skilled research assistants for qualitative and quantitative components of the study.<\/p>\n
Roles and Responsibilities<\/p>\n
Organize and oversee field activitiesOn daily basis asses the progress of the team (data collectors) and revise plans as needed in consultation with the study core team
\nEnsure the data collectors complete their responsibility
\nEnsure that the team collects data with the required quality (completeness, reliability, accuracy, integrity, precision, confidentiality)
\nProvide regular data collection progress update
\nCodebook development
\nAnalysis support in coding the transcripts using relevant software.
\nInvolve in KII and FGD interviews
\nSupport data collectors training
\nConduct supportive supervision to support data collectors
\nAbout You
\nAbout you<\/p>\n
Education: Master Degree in Public Health, Statistics, Nursing, Sociology, or Anthropology.<\/p>\n
Experience:<\/p>\n
At least 2 years and more professional experience
\nPractical experience in steady team supervision and qualitative data collection
\nQualitative data\/transcript coding
\nLanguage: proficient in Amharic and English. Any additional local language is an asset.<\/p>\n
