\nStrategic Planning and Implementation<\/p>\n
Develop and implement strategies to improve crop yield, quality, and profitability.
\nEnsure sustainable agricultural practices are integrated into production systems.
\nDevelop and execute agronomic plans to optimize crop production.
\nSet goals, KPIs, and performance metrics for agronomic programs.
\nProvide strategic recommendations on crop selection, planting schedules, and resource allocation.
\nExplore new malt barley production areas in all regions and zones for grain production and seed multiplications
\nResearch and Development<\/p>\n
Oversee research projects to develop new farming techniques, crop varieties, and pest control methods.
\nManage field trials and experiments to test new agronomic practices.
\nIdentify areas for research and innovation in crop production and soil management.
\nOversee the design, implementation, and analysis of field trials and experiments.
\nCollaborate with research institutions, suppliers, and industry experts to improve agronomic performance.
\nCrop Management<\/p>\n
Develop crop management plans that include planting, irrigation, fertilization, pest and disease control, and harvesting. Define local good practices of the culture of malting barley.
\nDesign a package of good practices best suited for the customers in different regions. Manage relation with the upstream industry players to define and negotiate the selected inputs (fertilizers and pesticides).
\nMonitor crop performance and adjust management practices as needed.
\nProvide expert advice to farmers, agronomists, and other stakeholders on crop management and soil health.
\nMonitor crop growth stages and ensure timely execution of all agronomic activities.
\nLead integrated pest and disease management programs to minimize crop losses.
\nQuality Assurance and Compliance<\/p>\n
Ensure all agronomic practices comply with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and environmental guidelines.
\nImplement quality control measures to monitor crop health and productivity.
\nEnsure compliance with agricultural regulations and standards.
\nEnsure adherence to company policies, food safety standards, sustainability requirements, and certification programs.
\nLeadership and Budget Management<\/p>\n
Lead and manage a team of agronomists, researchers, and field staff.
\nFoster a collaborative and productive work environment.
\nDevelop and deliver training programs and workshops.
\nBuild team capability through continuous learning and professional development initiatives.
\nManage budgets for agronomic programs and research projects.
\nData Analysis and Reporting<\/p>\n
Collect and analyse data on crop performance, soil health, and environmental conditions.
\nPrepare reports and presentations for senior management and stakeholders.
\nUtilize agronomic data, forecasting tools, and performance analytics to support decision-making.
\nPrepare regular reports on crop performance, production forecasts, risks, and operational efficiency.
\nTraining and Technical Support<\/p>\n
Provide training and support to farmers, agronomists, and field staff.
\nStay updated with the latest research and developments in agronomy and disseminate knowledge to the team.
\nDevelop standard operating procedures (SOPs) and technical guidelines for agronomic operations.
\nRisk Management<\/p>\n
Identify and assess agronomic risks related to weather, pests, diseases, soil conditions, and market factors.
\nDevelop mitigation and contingency plans to minimize operational disruptions and production losses.
\nMonitor environmental and climatic trends and recommend proactive interventions.
\nStakeholder Engagement:<\/p>\n
Build and maintain relationships with farmers, researchers, suppliers, and regulatory bodies
\nEngage with local communities and promote sustainable farming practices.
\nAbout You
\nEducation:<\/p>\n
Master\u2019s degree in Agronomy, crop production, plant science, or equivalent
\nExperience:<\/p>\n
At least 12 years proven experience out of which 5 years as a manager in areas like crop production, farm management, agronomist, research & development on agriculture, crop quality management, grain sourcing, agri- supply chain and related production.
\nTechnical Skills:<\/p>\n
Ability to develop effective working relationships across the area.
\nStrong communication, presentation and reporting skills

\nStrong analytical, critical and synthesis thinking
\nAbility to interpret large amount of data, to supply management and inventory control
\nAbility to communicate effectively and authoritatively on area of expertise, and influence others to reach common goals.
