The Network of Ethiopian Women\u2019s Associations (NEWA) is a non-partisan, non-governmental umbrella organization working to advance women\u2019s rights and gender equality in Ethiopia. As part of its ongoing initiatives\u2014particularly in promoting economic justice and addressing unpaid care and domestic work (UCDW)\u2014NEWA seeks to document and showcase its impact through high-quality short documentary videos.<\/p>\n
To enhance visibility, advocacy, and stakeholder engagement, NEWA intends to produce compelling visual stories that capture real-life experiences, community transformations, and key achievements from its interventions in\u00a0Adama and Addis Ababa.<\/p>\n
2. Objective of the Assignment<\/p>\n
The overall objective of this assignment is to\u00a0professionally document and showcase success stories and impact narratives\u00a0from NEWA\u2019s initiatives through engaging and high-quality short documentary videos.
\nSpecific objectives include:<\/p>\n
Capture authentic success stories of beneficiaries and stakeholders
\nHighlight the impact of the WE CARE programs on communities, particularly in relation to unpaid care and domestic work
\nProduce visually compelling content that can be used for advocacy, reporting, and donor engagement
\n3. Scope of Work<\/p>\n
The selected consultant\/production firm will be responsible for:<\/p>\n
Planning, filming, and producing:
\nTwo separate documentary videos (Adama and Addis Ababa), each approximately 2 minutes long
\nOne combined highlight video integrating key footage from both locations
\nConducting interviews with selected beneficiaries, stakeholders, and project staff
\nCapturing high-quality supporting footage (B-roll) of activities, environments, and community interactions
\nDeveloping a clear storytelling structure for each video
\nProviding voice-over narration where appropriate
\n4. Key Deliverables<\/p>\n
The consultant\/firm is expected to deliver:<\/p>\n
Two fully edited documentary videos (each approximately 2 minutes):
\nOne for Adama
\nOne for Addis Ababa
\nOne highlight video combining key moments from both locations
\nAll videos must include:
\nEnglish subtitles (accurate and well-synchronized)
\nIntro and outro segments with NEWA branding
\nClean transitions, color correction, and professional editing
\n5. Production and Technical Requirements<\/p>\n
The production must meet professional standards, including:
\nVideo quality: Minimum Full HD (1080p)
\nAudio: Clear and professional sound using external microphones
\nLighting: Proper lighting setup for interviews and indoor scenes
\nStorytelling: Structured narrative including interviews, voice-over (if applicable), and B-roll
\nEditing: Smooth transitions, color grading, and cohesive storytelling
\nSubtitles: Accurate English subtitles synchronized with audio
\n6. Logistics<\/p>\n
Per diem and accommodation for fieldwork (outside Addis Ababa) will be covered in line with NEWA\u2019s standard rates
\nNEWA will facilitate coordination with beneficiaries and stakeholders where necessary
\n7. Timeline<\/p>\n
Filming to be conducted as per agreed schedule<\/p>\n
First draft of all videos to be submitted within one week after completion of filming
\nFinal versions to be delivered after incorporating feedback within an agreed timeframe
