Women Empowerment Action (WE-Action) is a feminist women’s rights organization that has been operating across various regions in Ethiopia, including Amhara, Oromia, Southern Ethiopia, Central Ethiopia, and Tigray, for the past 30 years. WE-Action has four strategic goals: combating gender inequality, promoting gender-equitable and sustainable livelihoods, ensuring protection and lifesaving support, and achieving organizational excellence. WE-Action is currently seeking a competent Driver Mechanic.<\/p>\n

I. Description of the position<\/p>\n
Accountable to: Finance & Admin Officer<\/p>\n
Duration: For seven months with possibility of extension based on job performance<\/p>\n
II. JOB SUMMARY:<\/p>\n
The Driver will have an overall responsibility of driving vehicles and keeping the organization\u2019s vehicles in good condition including minor maintenance of vehicles and perform liaison works as per the office regulation and as stipulated in this job description.<\/p>\n
III. GENERAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:<\/p>\n
Ensures that the vehicle is utilized for the sole purpose of the organization’s work and comply with strictly.
\nEnsure that W-Action Ethiopia office\u2019s policy with Non-Smoking and Drug Free policy is upheld within the vehicle.
\nFollow up the vehicle is equipped with the necessary safety and short term maintenance equipment.
\nResponsible to have all relevant and up to date certification\/documentation on hand while on assignment.
\nEnsures that the necessary appliances and First Aid kit are readily available in the vehicle in good condition and communicate any gaps identified for immediate stocking.
\nEnsures proper cleanliness of assigned vehicles
\nResponsible to drive the vehicle assigned in a safe way, with strict observance of traffic rules and regulations and the organization’s internal policy.
\nResponsible for the timely recording of official trips as per the office\u2019s rules,
\nFollow-up scheduled insurance, service period and annual inspection of assigned vehicles and report to supervisor
\nResponsible for the day to day maintenance and checkup of the car, performs minor repair & ensures the safety of the car all the times.
\nResponsible for service maintenance follow-up that are carried out by the contracted garage and update immediate supervisor for any administration action.
\nResponsible to distributes\/collect letters, packages, & delivery of project documents on behalf of the organization and checks mails in the post office daily & perform related liaison works
\nAssist in the settlement of monthly utility bills (telephone, internet, etc.) or any associated payments
\nPerform other duties assigned by the Supervisor.

Able to seek appropriate advice and report concerns, and feel confident that they have been understood.
\nUnderstands local safeguarding structures and arrangements.
\nPractices in a manner that seeks to reduce the risk of abuse, harm or neglect.
\nIdentifies and refers to appropriate services any other associated persons including careers, family members and children at risk.
\nAble to document safeguarding concerns, and maintain appropriate record-keeping, recording the wishes and views of the adult or child at risk, differentiating between fact and opinion.
\nGather feedback and complaints on any concerns of the project implementation and organization and formally document and report back to field offices with a confidential and secure manner.

IV. EDUCATION QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE<\/p>\n
Renewed 3rd grade driving license
\nDiploma in mechanic or related Fields
\nMinimum of (3) Three years as driver and in handling different liaising activities and experience with NGO\u2019s.
\nV. REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:<\/p>\n
Good knowledge of safety and security standards
\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills in local language
\nAbility to effectively work in a team.
\nHigh level of integrity and honesty, etc.
