Position Overview:
\nAs a\u00a0Junior Safety Officer Position\u00a0overview, the incumbent is expected to perform the following major duties and responsibilities.<\/p>\n
Job Summary: He\/She must have commitment and devotion to Achieve Advancare strategic objectives and goals, Safety Officer is responsible for ensuring that Advancare Laboratories maintain a safe, healthy, and compliant working environment. This role involves developing, implementing, and monitoring safety protocols in line with national regulations and international laboratory standards, including biosafety, chemical safety, fire safety, and emergency preparedness.<\/p>\n
RESPONSIBILITIES<\/p>\n
2. Compliance<\/p>\n
Comply with the AL company policies and procedures.
\nFollow rules regulations of the health, quality, safety and environmental regulatory requirements.
\nKeep government bodies, accreditation agencies, and industry-specific guidelines.
\nImplementation of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)
\nFocusing laboratory processes, procedures, and documentation meet the regulatory and quality standards.
\n3. Technical Support and Non-technical Support<\/p>\n
Develop and enforce health and safety policies, procedures, and protocols in accordance with local regulations and ISO standards.
\nConduct regular safety inspections, risk assessments, and audits of laboratory areas, equipment, and operations.
\nEnsure proper storage, labelling, handling, and disposal of hazardous substances and biological specimens.
\nInvestigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses; maintain detailed records and recommend corrective actions.
\nCoordinate fire drills, spill response drills, and other emergency preparedness exercises.
\nProvide safety orientation and ongoing training programs for all laboratory staff.
\nMaintain and update Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for all chemicals used in the laboratory.
\nMonitor compliance with PPE usage, ventilation systems, biosafety cabinets, and other safety controls.
\nServe as the point of contact for external inspections related to health and safety.
\nStay updated with regulatory changes and advancements in laboratory safety practices.
\nAbout You
\nQualification and Work Experience:
\nEDUCATION<\/p>\n
Bachelor\u2019s degree in occupational health and safety, Environmental Science, Medical Laboratory Science.\u00a0or a related field.
\nCertification in health and safety is preferred.
\nQUALIFICATIONS<\/p>\n
Minimum 2\u20133 years\u2019 experience in a laboratory or healthcare safety role.
\nFamiliarity with ISO 15189, JCI, CLSI guidelines, and relevant national health and safety laws.
\nLicense renewal certificate.
