About the Organization:
\nVisionFund Micro Finance Institution (S.C) is an Institution established according to proclamation No. 40\/96 which currently amended to 626\/2009 to provide financial services to the productive poor in the rural and urban areas of Ethiopia. VisionFund is currently operating in five of the Regional States of the country.<\/p>\n
VisionFund MFI is currently looking for candidates for Security Guard role. The successful candidates will have skills and experience that meet the following requirements:<\/p>\n
2. JOB SUMMARY<\/p>\n
Under the close supervision of the Security Supervisor, the security guard protects the Institution premises and property from theft, damage and vandalism.<\/p>\n
3. SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES<\/p>\n
Control and monitor access points by verifying visitor credentials, checking identification, and issuing guest passes.
\nChecks that the company’s employees do not bring unauthorized items and property into and out of the Company.
\nControls that guests do not bring unauthorized items and property into and out of the Company.
\nProtect personnel, property, and assets from potential threats including theft, vandalism, and unauthorized access.
\nAt the main entrance gate, he\/she asks for the identification of foreign guests and employees of the company; he\/she verifies their identity.
\nEnsures that vehicles entering and leaving the company are licensed and that they are not carrying unauthorized items.
\nOpens doors for vehicles; ensures that they are parked in their assigned areas;
\nEnsures that office lights are turned off after working hours; doors and windows are locked and water taps are turned off.
\nInforms the company\u2019s managers about the situation when an accident occurs in the company; requests the assistance and assistance of the police and defense forces in a timely manner.
\nHandles the equipment given for protection with care and attention; uses it only for the company\u2019s work; takes the necessary precautions to ensure that it does not fall into the hands of unauthorized persons.
\nUpon completion of the guard shift, he\/she properly hands over the assets under protection and the guard area to the successor.
\nIn the event of a fire in the company, he\/she tries to extinguish it using fire extinguishers; if he\/she is unable to do so, he\/she requests the assistance of the fire brigade; the police and other government agencies.
\nHe\/she performs his\/her daily duties in accordance with the rules and regulations of occupational safety.
\nHe\/she informs the supervisor of any activities that pose a safety risk within the territory of the organization.
\nIn addition, he\/she performs other similar duties.

\n4. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS<\/p>\n
A) EDUCATION\/TRAINING
\nCompleted 8th grade, basic military training.
\nB) EXPERIENCE
\n2 year of work experience
\nC) TECHNICAL AND OTHER SKILLS
\nAbility to disassemble and assemble weapons.
\nAbility to follow instructions and orders.
\nGood physical fitness.
\nAbility to follow verbal and written instructions.
\nKnowledge of security systems and emergency procedures as well as customer care.
\nAbility to remain calm under pressure.
\nMay require shift work, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
